The Triennale chair was designed as part of the renovation of the restaurant spaces, originally conceived by Giovanni Muzio and furnished with custom-designed furniture by Gigiotti Zanetti. The project took into account the existence of the original table, reissued for the occasion by UniFor, in order to create a coherent and respectful dialogue between the new seat and the historical furnishings.
The chair was designed to be stackable and functional, aspiring to an essential elegance capable of integrating harmoniously into public and representative spaces. Entirely made of wood, it moves beyond the more obvious references to the design of the era—particularly the use of metal tubing—to offer a solid and enduring form, based on formal quality and careful attention to proportions.
The goal was to redefine the image of the stackable chair, which is often perceived as temporary or purely utilitarian, by instead offering a sober and refined object, designed to stand the test of time.
